Installing ASNA Products
Installing ASNA Wings for development requires that a number of software components are correctly installed on at least two pieces of hardware: the IBM i and the Windows development machine. Actually deploying Wings may require installing software onto each Windows server and each IBM i on which the program with the modernized displays resides.
The IBM i for Modernization must have:
- IBM i V6R1 or higher (including V7R2)
- IBM Open Access RPG Edition free and included in all versions after V6R2.
- ASNA DataGate for IBM i
- ASNA Monarch Collector
- Visual Studio 2019 (Professional, Premium, or Ultimate versions) or Visual Studio Shell or Community Edition (if your company quaifies).
- ASNA Wings Design Aid
- Web browser - Wings sites function best on Windows Internet Explorer 9 or higher, Mozilla Firefox 3.6 or higher, or Google Chrome 8.0 or higher.
The Windows Web Server for Deployment must have
- Internet Information Server (IIS)
- ASNA DataGate Webpak - Provides ASNA Wings the runtime access to the IBM i.
The IBM i for Deployment must have:
(Note that if this is the same IBM i you used to perform ASNA Wings modernization, it already has the software installed for runtime production.)
- IBM i V6R1 or higher
- IBM Open Access RPG Edition (licensed program 5733, included after V6R2)
- ASNA DataGate for IBM i - This provides access to the IBM i for reading display file and message file definitions.
